ATP standards

The international transport of foodstuff and the delivery vehicles used for this are divided into different classes on the basis of conserving temperature, construction insulation properties and cooling and refrigeration aids. All standards are determined by the international ATP protocol, which states specific classes and the requirements for each of them. Three-letter codes are used in the production and certification of insulated delivery vehicles. The following table gives an overview of the meaning of codes:

For example, the code FRC stands for a heavily insulated delivery vehicle, which has a mechanical refrigeration device and has the maximum refrigeration temperature of -20°C. According to the ATP protocol, the class of the delivery vehicle depends primarily on the requirements
established for certain perishable foodstuff. In real life, most universals for different uses are vans and containers of FNA (with a mechanical refrigeration device, normal insulation and temperature range from 0°C to +12°C) and FRC (with a mechanical refrigeration device, heavy insulation and temperature range from -20°C to +12°C) classes.

Eurowest Inc. projects and builds insulated vans and containers according to clients specific needs. Our company's sales representatives and engineers are always ready to advise clients on international standards and classes of delivery vehicles as well as offer detailed solutions for particular requirements.
